Good article - been doing this a long time. Personally I have never been on an ascension trip. If you want a woman, be in your body, and if you want to keep her' be in your heart but with passion and grit.
To realise the no self is easy, it just happens one day. It is incredibly obvious and no big deal. Makes the facing yourself much much easier.

Just little pointers

HEY Eivind, great article men, I guess the third stage men on Deidas work the black knight, is the men who gives up all hope to be right, gets out of his self, and finally has a realization that the purpose of his life is to serve, to protect, and sacrifice his well been for the protection of the comunity, and the ego no longer manage his life he goes beyond the hero with a thousand faces and is not longer looking for anyones approval, to be recognise is no longer part of his identity, I really believed that the only reason there is a lot of white knights second satage men, is because they are so much looking for approval from others and specially from their mom's, that they became pleasers, always looking for the love of their mom's on other woman, they deceived themself to be a third stage man just because they can stand the storm, continuing practicing to be present techniques, and spiritual mantras, but at the end of the day they still feel like shit about themself, confused, can't make a descicion.
any ways I just want to tell you that I like your article I wish you the best, thank you brother!!!

Wow i am completely satisfied with reading this post, both as an artist and as a teenager who aspires to one day be a "man".

Reading the stages of development as they are portrayed in such a beautiful and POWERFUL manner gives me confidence and also helps me to further stick together the things that make me feel like ME.
Thank you.

<p>Hey Eivind

I have been examining the nature of the three stages as taught by deida quite a lot recently and i have come to see a differentiation between the black knight stage you have here and the third stage. This has been something i've had difficulty understanding (and still do) for a while. From what I understand, the 3rd stage that deida describes is about living as the divine, living beyond personal boundaries, living as deep nothingness merging with everything that is arising each moment and fully embodying divine will as it is expressed through your unique personality and gift. To do this seems to require quite a spiritual openess, in most cases, many years of spiritual practice and intense therapy seem mandatory. I believe Deidas stage conceptions are quite clumsy for the most part. His definition of the 2nd stage wimp seems to cause this confusion, because once you are beyond being a nice guy, have embraced your black knight, this by no means brings you to the 3rd stage as deida describes it.

I have only seen one essay of deidas that actually expands upon to potential of the 2nd stage which is here:
<a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20030208081154/http://www.deida.com/dd981201-61.shtml" rel="nofollow">http://web.archive.org/web/20030208081154/http://www.deida.com/dd981201-61.shtml</a> Pretty illuminating for me when I read it.

an excerpt:
"The second-stage hero stands victorious atop his mound of self-control, internal mastery, and impeccable action. He has won--he is completely his own master, authentic and whole, fully responsible for his own happiness. He is free to go where he wants, when he wants. He is free to love who he wants, perhaps a woman or two, or maybe just himself. The second-stage man is a free spirit, a Renaissance man of the new age, a man of inner evolution and outer adventure--an adventure not of gaining personal wealth, but of creating a more utopian way of life."

Anyway, i'm sure your understanding about this has all grown since you posted this as well. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on this.
