Rick and Pelle - I'm inspired to hear that you too find this to be an important subject. For me, it's sort of snuck up on me from behind. I didn't realize I needed to process mother stuff. The way it turned out, it was the end of my intimate relationship with my ex that really kickstarted this process. Now, I find myself in a position of having to take back the projections I placed on women based on my unworked through emotional material from childhood.

It's intimidating and liberating at the same time. There is something very good waiting at the end of this road.

Thanks for posting this Eivind. It's tremendously important. I've been half aware of this for the past few years, but this article spells it out so very clearly.

I love how you are increasing your focus on mythopoetic work, KWML archetypes, mother work, father work, initiation, etc etc. Keep up the good work.

Such a good post. My experience has been similar. It took lots of work, multiple failed relationships, and many years for me to break through the "Dad is bad / Mom is good" dichotomy. I'm happy to see this aspect of the masculine experience getting some play. It's important. Men (and women, too) cannot be whole and fully mature without developing a realistic view of both parents.
